Scientology troubles for Will and Jada
WILL SMITH and his wife JADA PINKETT SMITH have reportedly parted company with the head of their private school.
The Hollywood couple launched the educational institution last year and employed Jacqueline Olivier to head the academy.
The school uses the Study Tech curriculum method of teaching, which was devised by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
But Olivier is no longer working in her $200,000 a year position amid reports of a disagreement with the Smiths over teaching techniques.
A source tells us, "Jada phoned Jaqueline and told her that they had ‘decided to go in another direction’ with the school."
The teacher has reportedly signed a confidentiality agreement, meaning she is not allowed to reveal anything about her time in the facility.
Olivier has been replaced by Piano Foster, who took over as head of the campus at the beginning of last month.
She confirmed the news, saying "I officially took over on July 1, 2009, and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I feel I’m ready for the job."
The school sparked controversy when it opened in 2008 after campaigners claimed the academy was being used as a front for Scientology teachings.
The actors, whose two children attend the school, have denied they are Scientologists and have previously insisted the academy has no religious affiliation.
