Tyra Banks rescues ‘Top Model’ from assault charges
Super-model saves her protege from prison sentence.
The assault charges have been dropped for both “America’s Next Top Model” veteran Bianca Golden and “Hairspray” star Nikki Blonsky stemming from an airport brawl last summer in Turks and Caicos.
Both women were arrested in July after a fight between their families at Providenciales International Airport.
One witness claims the actress tried to save seats for her family by placing luggage there, leaving nowhere for Golden and her mom to sit.
Words were exchanged, earrings came off, and members of both families took swings at each other before being arrested for assault.
Fearing the Top Model winner would not receive a fair trial on the tropical island, Tyra supposedly hired an international attorney to assist the model in the court hearings.
“Tyra loves and respects all the girls she helped develop, and the relationship extends beyond the TV show”, said her publicist.
Since her “Top Model” season aired, Golden has since signed with a New York and South African modeling agency, and has appeared in Macy’s ads.
