Wyclef assassination plot
Hip-hop star WYCLEF JEAN is so powerful in his native Haiti, a political group once hatched a plot to assassinate him.
The former Fugees star moved to the United States with his family when he was just nine years old, but since finding fame he has returned often and established charitable groups to aid the poverty-stricken country.
And while his work has made him a iconic figure in among Haitian citizens, it’s alienated him from certain powerful figures.
Jean refuses to reveal who plotted to kill him, but tells Hip Hop Weekly, “They had a plot to assassinate me, but it obviously didn’t go down. I take what I do very seriously, but I fear nothing… except my mamma.”
He adds, “Before I touch the ground in Haiti, I know everything that’s going on. From the slums to everywhere. Everybody fears me that wants to take the power ’cause in their minds they think I wanna be president and they know that I would win by a landslide.’”

Wyclef has to be careful because politicians are the most ruthless folks in every culture…they’ll kill you then give a eulogy at your funeral.
