50 Cent may be retiring…thank God
50 Cent is set to follow rap rival The Game into retirement, insisting his next studio album could be his last.
Rapper 50 Cent has only a fourth album and a hits compilation left on his label contract and has considered stepping back from the business after that. He says, “The next album could very well be my last studio album if it doesn’t make sense for me to continue and actually do it.”
But the one thing that might prompt 50 to forge on is the fact all his rap peers are getting old and comfortable.
50 Cent spoke specifically about Jay-Z, “He’s married, he’s getting ready to be 40. He’s in a different place, he might not even want to run around, and even touring might be out of the question.”
Remember folks this is the same 50 Cent who promised he would retire if Kanye sold more records than him during their so-called competition 2 years ago. In other words, don’t get your hopes up.
It makes you wonder if hiphop would be better or worse off without the “Big 5″: Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Kanye, Lil Wayne, and T.I.
